Emily Williams - His Ways Are Not Our Ways

Emily and Garrett

My name is Emily Williams. I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. I studied education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where I received my masters. I then went on to teach in a Title I school in Nashville for a few years. After that, God gave me a desire to serve children in Uganda. Therefore, I moved to Kampala, Uganda where I worked for Sixty Feet, a ministry that provides immediate relief and long-term restoration to children living in prison. I had several roles with Sixty Feet, including Social Media manager, Finance Director, Interim Director, and Homeward Bound Project Coordinator. For Homeward Bound, my main role was seeking to remove children from incarceration and place them back in their families or in foster-care families. After working in Uganda for 2.5 years, I moved back to Fort Worth, where I started working at Rivertree Academy. Rivertree Academy seeks to educate children living in Como to live life well by following Jesus, thriving academically, and transforming their community. I am now the principal at Rivertree, where we serve approximately 80 children in PreK through 5th grade. I got married in June 2018 and love being back in Fort Worth with family and having the opportunity to serve the city where I grew up.
